Description
This functional pipestone pipe is was acquired from the Pipestone Indian Shrine Association at the Pipestone National Monument in Pipestone, Minnesota by Native American artist, Woody Richards (Lakota Sioux.) The artists signature on the accompanying paperwork reads as Wanda Jackson. The head of the pipe is in the shape of an axe head, carved from pipestone with etchings on both sides. The pipe head has to ports, one for the pipe steam and one to draw from. The pipestem is made of wood and is removable from the pipe head. The pipestem features a decretive wrap made from hide and beads.
