The Interpretive Center Will Be CLOSED

All Day

The Interpretive Center will be closed for major renovations beginning March 1, 2022.   Two projects, totaling almost 5 million dollars, will replace old systems and a weathered roof, all of which are original components to the building’s construction in 1988.  The project will begin with replacing the roof of the Interpretive Center and the Maintenance Shop followed by replacing the HVAC, fire, security, and lighting systems.   A re-open date has not been set, however we are anticipating a closure of one year or more.  The Society will continue operations of fundraising and other support programs during the closure.  The Site will work on interior components such as Gallery updates and program planning.  We plan to offer outdoor tours beginning in Spring when the weather is conducive to this.  More information regarding closure opportunities and programming will be found on our website, on social media, or by calling the Interpretive Center.
