Happy New Year to you, our fellow supporters. Last year, you all came together to ensure the continuation of preservation and interpretation at Cahokia Mounds. We would like to thank everyone who participated in or volunteered at our events over the previous year. With your generous contributions we can continue public outreach and educational programs at Cahokia Mounds including Native American Market Days, Artifact Identification Day, Solstice/Equinox Sunrise Observances, and Nature/Culture Hikes.
Entering a new year of preserving and interpreting Cahokia Mounds, we need to remind you that Cahokia Mounds Museum Society needs your support. The Interpretive Center will likely remain closed for most of 2024 and your not-for-profit organization relies on the gift shop to provide income to continue and expand the preservation. Due to the construction delay, your support remains critical. YOU can make an impact at Cahokia Mounds TODAY by contributing a one-time or monthly donation, joining or increasing your membership to the Society, or by shopping at our Gift Shop either in-person at select times, or online at www.cahokiamounds.org/shop. Can’t access the website? You may also place a Gift Shop order over the phone by calling (618) 344-9221.
In 2024, I can assure you I will remain dedicated to the continuation of preservation and interpretation at Cahokia Mounds, in spite of our limitations, by expanding our outreach, preservation, and membership programs. In 2024, we plan to develop more fundraising opportunities, expand our Land Acquisition funds to acquire threatened areas of the ancient site, develop a new grant to produce audio tours for the site, and prepare for potential reopening in 2025.
Continue checking our social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter or our website www.cahokiamounds.org for the most recent updates on the renovation, special events, and fundraising opportunities.
