About John Miller
John Miller of Brentwood in St. Louis County is a volunteer with the Purple Martin Conservation Association (PMCA). Having had a life-long interest in purple martins, he has established and helps manage multiple colonies of these birds at public sites throughout the metro area, including Forest Park, St. Louis, Mo., Riverlands Audubon Center, West Alton, Mo., and Cahokia Mounds. A native of Kentucky, John learned about martins from his grandfather. As such, he and other volunteers with the PMCA work to perpetuate the tradition because as a species, purple martins are totally dependent on human-provided housing.
