WHO ARE THE CAHOKIA MOUNDS VOLUNTEERS?
They are people excited about being part of the development of this World Heritage Site—a group of interested people assisting with ongoing activities and plans at Cahokia Mounds Historic Site.
Purpose
Cahokia Mounds has over 120 dedicated volunteers who provide a wide variety of assistance, from greeting and assisting visitors, operating the information desk, conducting tours, assisting with educational programs, working in the Museum Gift Shop, performing clerical duties and creating marketing materials.
Volunteer Opportunities
- Work as a Museum Guide
- Greet visitors and explain how to view the museum and grounds – Interpret information from the exhibits.
- Operate the information desk
- Conduct tours
- Assist with museum educational programs
- Accomplish library work
- Work in the Museum Shop operated by the Cahokia Mounds Museum Society
- Do clerical work
