“Keith Yazzie Jay grew up in the four-corners area of the Navajo Nation. As early as high school, Jay started honing his talent as a sculptor. Working at a pottery shop, his hand and finger coordination developed to the point where he could work with an exacto knife.
He started to create pottery pieces with Navajo-life scenes and wildlife. By the mid-1990’s, he had developed his own style of etched two-tone pottery where he carefully layers each colored pottery to a certain thickness to carve designs and wildlife.”
