Sterling silver 2.3″ x 1.5″ heirloom quality hand chased and repoussé oval pendant – ‘anaskamôn’ in Western Abenaki.
The bear ‘Awasos’ is the one who taught the ‘Alnôbak’ or “Ordinary Humans” Indigenous to North America medicine plants. Awasos is surrounded by “double curve” or “fiddle head ferns” and other Wôbanaki medicine ‘Mide’ plant designs become canoes traveling around carrying the healing plants to help protect.
Signed with the Sunrise Drum hallmark in twenty-two (22) gauge sterling silver with blue and clam shell “hair pipes” – bone are “western” the shell represents the shining white light of the eastern dawn of the Wôbanaki and copper and white heart red beads (for the strawberries that remind us of our ancestors’ teachings) strung on imitation sinew.
